The player is drawn into the world of Dead Island on the brink of a mysterious zombie epidemic, that suddenly and with no warning breaks out on the fictional island of Banoi. As a guest of the Royal Palms Resort, the player's stay was supposed to be a dream holiday, a get away from daily grind into the idyllic beaches of a tropical paradise. But suddenly and faced with unimaginable terror, there is only one thing left to do: survive...

Be caressed by the most delightful, varied, untamed and innocent landscapes - you might have imagined when dreaming of paradise. Banoi is the magnificent heart of the Papua New Guinean islands - located south of the equator, north of Australia.

Its pulsating tropical beauty offers many different natural wonders: from verdant rainforests - swathing volcanic mountains - to untouched coral atolls teeming with white, white beaches.

The crystal clear, warm sea with its intact underwater wildlife surrounds Banoi and invites to take fascinating diving excursions. Rugged mountain terrains and deep cave systems present wonderful opportunities for walkers, cavers and climbers. Rare species of birds, butterflies and fishes accompany the adventurous guests while canoeing, rafting and fishing. About the game

Dead Island will feature open world gameplay, played from a first person perspective, with up to four-player co-operative play. The focus will be on melee combat, incorporating customizable weaponry and RPG elements. The game is set in the Royal Palms Resort, in fictional Banoi, located in Papua New Guinea.

Character
The names of four characters in Dead Island are Xian Mei (a staff member at the hotel), Logan, Sam B and Purna. All the characters have the "Category" Hero.
